This Essex was first purchased from Motors Limited in Adelaide by a local market gardener in 1924 ,he used this car for around 40yrs, at the end of it's working life it was stored for another 30yrs, upon the death of the original owner the Essex was traded on a new utility in 1993. The very enthusiastic second owner restored the Essex from the ground up, a photographic library of the restoration and a substantial receipt file accompany the car. This car has had only 3 owners from new! The 1924 Essex Six has a fully balanced side valve 6 cylinder 130 cubic inch engine of 34 horsepower with a 3 speed centre change gearbox, it runs and drives very well.
