This 1928 Ford Model A Phaeton has been restored to original specification, a long list of the restoration work has been compiled by the previous owner including, completely rebuilding the engine with new pistons, white metal bearings,improved adjustable tappets,"float a motor" rubber engine mounts (a great improvement) etc, etc. The spring shackles, king pins, wheel bearings and steering rod cups and balls have all been replaced,the steering box has been fully rebuilt, the brakes have been replaced, new gearbox bearings, rebuilt carburetor, starter motor and generator, a later 1929 clutch and preassure plate has also been fitted. The paint, trim, hood, side curtains, chrome and wheels and tyres are in excellent order, the engine compartment is very neat and tidy , this car runs and drives beautifully. The Ford Model A was known as as a strong and reliable car, over 8 Million were produced so spare parts are not a problem! The Ford Model A has a 24hp side valve 4 cylinder engine and a centre change 3 speed transmission and decent (for 1928!)4 wheel brakesAlthough this car was restored some time ago it has not been used much since and presents very well, it runs and drives beautifully, a great rally car.
