The Chinchilla Grey paintwork is older and although it has a few chips and marks it is still in remarkably good condition, the seats have been sympathetically retrimmed and look great. This car runs very quietly and drives beautifully, the previous owner was a retired motor mechanic. This car has been fitted with seat belts and a period style tachometer. The S5 Series Senior Deluxe DeSoto was introduced in 1938, it has a large 228.1 cubic inch 93bhp side valve 6 cylinder engine (larger and more powerful than the Dodge and Plymouth of the same year, it also has a longer wheelbase and independent front suspension) with a 3 speed centre change gearbox.In 1938 DeSoto was highly regarded as a robust and reliable model with a strong performance, this car will definitely not hold up the traffic!
