This 1929 De Soto Series K Sedan has a rare coachbuilt body by Smith and Waddington of Sydney, it had a ground up restoration in the 1980's, a photographic record of the restoration is included. The paint, trim, chrome and engine compartment are all well presented, it runs very quietly and drives beautifully. The De Soto was built by the Chrysler Corporation from 1928-1960 (named after a Spanish explorer) originally to compete with Nash, Studebaker and Oldsmobile, this model was well regarded and known to be strong and reliable car. The 1929 De Soto Series K has a 6 cylinder 21.6hp side valve engine with a 3 speed centre change transmission, hydraulic 4 wheel brakes, and rubber engine mounts (both rare in cars of this vintage)This excellent 1929 DeSoto sedan is a strong performer with 75kph+ cruising ability and strong 4 wheel hydraulic brakes, an excellent drive anywhere rally car.
