1949 Rover P3 4 Light Sports Saloon

Another “Frightfully British’ 1949 Rover 75 P3 . This charming car is the rare 4 Light Sports Saloon model (4 side windows not 6), it has excellent paintwork, leather trim and chrome, retrofitted with a 1950’s 2.6 liter P4 engine (a common replacement), the larger P4 engine has around 90hp,and lots more torque than the earlier engine, it will not hold up the traffic! The P3 was the first model Rover built after WW2, it is quite advanced for it’s time having a 4 speed centre change gearbox with freewheeling hub (allows clutchless gearchanges when moving) , independent front suspension, and hydraulic/mechanical 4 wheel brakes. This car has a factory sliding sun roof, Lucas “Prince of Darkness” lights, and lovely Jaeger instruments. Around 9150 of the P3 produced, and not many with the 4 Light option, they were built only in 1948-1949. An excellent practical classic rally car
