This outstanding 1968 MGBGT Mk2 overdrive Coupe we believe is one of only 5 examples delivered new in Australia, sold new in Adelaide by Newport Motors and has had only 2 enthusiastic local owners from new. I traded this car in 1983 from it's first owner on a new Porsche 911SC, and sold it to it's last owner, when traded it had covered 40,000 miles from new and was a national MG Car Club concourse winner, the very enthusiastic second owner has done less than 6,000 miles in 35 years! All the original books and an extremely comprehensive service file accompanies the car, the oil, coolant, brake fluid etc have been changed religiously every year for the last 35 years! The original paintwork, leather trim, chrome, engine compartment, wheels and tyres etc are all immaculate as it was when new, all the original tools and jack are still like new and in the original bag, the spare tyre is the original one and like new!, even the original keys have their factory tags, and the original stickers are on the windscreen ! The second owner fitted new chrome wire wheels and a lovely period Moto Lita steering wheel, it also has a high torque starter motor (the original one is with the car). This wonderful car has never been driven in the rain by either of it's fastidious owners, and has only been washed in rain water!
