This beautifully restored 1926 Nash Ajax has had only 2 owners from new! The first owner was Mr Sydney Chappell from Bamawm via Rochester in Victoria, he bought the Nash new from the local agents, Rickard Bros Pty Ltd, 567 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne in 1926, he kept the Nash until 1969 when it was sold to it's second owner in need of restoration, he restored it from the ground up over a 30 year period! The original owners drivers license and a copy of the bill of sale in 1969 to the second owner accompany the car. The paintwork, trim ,chrome, hood, side curtains and engine compartment are in wonderful condition, it runs and drives as it did when new. The Ajax car was produced by the Nash company in Racine, Wisconsin, only in 1924-26, in later 1926 the Ajax became known as the Nash Light Six. This model has a 6 cylinder "L" head 2.8 litre engine with 7 main bearings, 3 speed transmission and 4 wheel mechanical brakes (unusual for the time). Fitted with all it's original features including, Motometer,"Dead Easy" running board mounted tyre pump, vacuum tank and Liberty headlights.This fully restored Nash Ajax won the Warriner Trophy for the "restoration of the year" in 2003 with the VSCC of Victoria and has not been used much since, this is a special opportunity.
