This 1922 Willys Overland Speedster has had a ground up restoration a few years ago and is in excellent condition. Although it cannot be confirmed, we believe this is the actual Willys Overland 4 Speedster that held the the official record driving from the GPO Melbourne to the GPO Adelaide on 19/4/1923 in 14 hours and 51 minutes by H Watkins and P M Pederson, they beat Murray Aungers record in a Prince Henry Vauxhall in 1914 by 3 minutes,600+ miles and all on dirt roads! This car has been authentically restored but with the addition of mudguards and aero screens for practicality. Recently the engine has been rebuilt from top to bottom with new white metal bearings and fully balanced. The 1922 Willys Overland has a 4 cylinder side valve engine with 27hp, and a 3 speed centre change gearbox. Having a very light construction, this car has an excellent performanceFrom a great era in Australian motoring history, this car would be an excellent addition to any collection.
