Riley RMB 25 Litre Sedan 1949

$0.00
This 1949 Riley 2.5 Litre RMB Sedan is in very good original condition, amazingly it has only 3 owners from new (the last owner for 40 years!), a letter to the first owner G.H.McFarlane from Kingsway Motors of Gawler Place in Adelaide (who were the local agents in 1949) shows the retail price at 1440 Pounds (an expensive car at this time, a Holden FX was 733 Pounds). This car has not been restored but it has been well cared for all it life. Over recent years the cylinder head gasket has been replaced, as have all the tyres, and the the brakes and radiator have been rebuilt. The RMB 2.5 Litre Riley has a 2.443cc 4 cylinder engine with 90BHP and a 4 speed centre change manual transmission, indipendent torsion bar front suspension and hydraulic front brakes, it had a top speed of 100MPH!, in 1949 it was far ahead of its time. Although this car is not restored it is in good original condition and has not been mucked about with over the years, it has a lovely patina, excellent value at $14,950
