Armstrong Siddeley Motors was formed in 1919, they produced a wide range of models although car production was on a small scale. Following the Second World War all new models were introduced, they were the first postwar all new British cars, having indipendent front suspension, preselector gearbox and advanced body design. 3 new models were anounced and named after famous wartime aircraft built by the company, the Hurricane, Lancaster and Typhoon. The cars were upgraded in 1949 with the introduction of the improved 2.3 litre 6 cylinder model. Armstrong Siddeley produced cars until 1958.This Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster Sports Saloon has a beautiful coachbuilt Mulliner body. It has been subjected to a recent restoration including bare metal repaint , rechrome and engine rebuild, supplied with an original factory instruction book and shop manual. Delivered new in Strathmore, Victoria 4/12/1953 its history is known from new. This car is fun to drive, it is a rare high quality classic.
