Armstrong Siddeley Motors was formed in 1919, they produced a wide range of models although car production was on a small scale. Following the Second World War all new models were introduced, they were the first postwar all new British cars, having indipendent front suspension, preselector gearbox and advanced body design. 3 new models were announced and named after famous war time aircraft built by the company, The Hurricane, the Lancaster and the Typhoon. The cars were upgraded in 1949 with the introduction of the improved 2.3 litre 6 cylinder 18hp model. Armstrong Siddeley produced cars until 1958.This 1950 Armstrong Siddeley Typhoon Coupe is one of the last of its model with the larger engine and new grille and dash.1701 Typhoons were made and only the last 15 had these improvments, this is the latest one of its model in Australia. This car was delivered new in Milicent, South Australia and has had just 3 owners from new. It has been meticulously restored from the ground up. The paintwork, trim, chrome and engine compartment are in beautiful condition, it drives very well. This rare classic is in my opinion an excellent investment.
