The Clement Bayard factory was in Seine, France, they built cars in small numbers from 1899 to 1922. This is a rare 1913 4M 4 cylinder 8 hp model, it was beautifully restored in the late 1960's to an exacting standard by Eric Rainsford from a complete and original car. It has been a museum display for many years and recently professionally recomissioned. The paintwork looks great and shows a wonderful patina, the deep buttoned leather upholstery by Gordon Eames is beautiful, the brasswork is stunning, the engine compartment is as it should be, it runs very quietly and drives well. This model Clement Bayard has a 8 hp 4 cylinder side valve engine with a right hand progressive change 3 speed gearbox and shaft drive. The beautiful brass radiator is fitted behind the engine and is cooled by a fan on the flywheel. It is not often that a brass veteran of this quality comes on the market, amazingly this car has not been altered or mucked about with in almost 100 years! This exceptionally original example in my opinion is a great investment.
