CITOREN TRACTION AVANT SEDAN 1951
CITOREN TRACTION AVANT SEDAN 1951
This charming 1951 Citroen Light 15 "Traction Avant" (or front wheel drive in English) has had a ground up restoration, the paintwork ,leather trim , engine compartment and wheels and tyres are excellent, it runs and drives beautifully. The "Traction Avant" was built from 1934-1955, this example was built in Slough in the UK, it differs from the French built car having a wooden dash, leather trim , Smiths Instruments and a chrome grille,1951 was the last year year of the desirable small boot model. This example has been fitted with the improved drive shafts and ID19 pistons and conrods with shell bearings ( a great improvement on the original). The "Traction Avant" has a 1911cc 4 cylinder engine with a 3 speed gearbox( the gear lever protrudes from the centre of the dash), it uses a revolutionary monocoque design with front wheel drive layout set within the wheelbase resulting in very favorable weight distribution and aiding in the cars advanced handling characteristics and beautiful ride.
This is an excellent example of the iconic "Traction Avant", could not be restored to this standard for anywhere near the asking price.
