Kougar manufacture cars using mainly Jaguar components. The company was founded by Rick Stevens in 1976 and cars were produced in Kent, UK and since 1990 in Warwickshire, UK. Over 250 Kougars have been built. The basic concept of the Kougar Sports Car is to incorporate the advanced engineering of the XJ Jaguar with a body style reminiscent of a previous era. This Kougar uses a strong triangulated tubular frame with 1967 Jaguar XK 4.2 engine and gearbox with overdrive. The fibreglass body is bonded to the frame. The suspension has Jaguar geometry and links but with softer springs and adjustable shock absorbers. This Kougar was first registered in Australia in 1986 and has covered only 7,000 miles since. It has 15 x 8 inch chrome wire wheels, toneau cover and hood with side curtains. Ewan Scott, the editor of Kit Car magazine describes the Kougar as the best kit car he has ever driven. The performance is sensational, this imposing car is so tractable it can be driven at 20mph in top gear or 120 mph! This beautiful Kougar is probably the only example in Australia. A special opportunity.
