Maxwell Tourer 1925 1

This charming 1925 Maxwell (the model is known as the "Good Maxwell") Tourer has had quality restoration to original specification a few years ago. The paint presents well, the trim, hood and side curtains and engine compartment are excellent, the original type nickel plating is great, all 4 tyres are new, it runs and drives very well. The engine and gearbox have recently been professionally rebuilt including new pistons, valves, crankshaft bearings, magneto etc, receipts for over $12,000 accompany the car. Maxwell cars were produced from 1904 in Detroit ,Michigan. Maxwell was bought out by Chrysler in 1923, and production ceased in 1925 (this model is very similar to the Chrysler "Model 50" that was introduced in 1925). The "Good Maxwell" has a 4 cylinder side valve engine with 21.3hp and a 3 speed centre change transmission, a single plate clutch and sprung engine mounts giving less engine vibration than the previous model. Original advertisements claim 28mpg and a staggering top speed of 58mph!This 1925 Maxwell has been well restored, a lovely vintage rally car with just the right amount of patina, in my opinion it is excellent value.
