This amazing 1949 Triumph 2000 Dickey Seat Roadster has had been in the same family for 60 years! It is exceptionally original with all its correct tools and instruction manual and has had only 2 owners from new with just 68,000 miles. The Triumph Dickey Seat Roadster was a pre war design built from 1946 with a 1760cc Standard engine and the improved model in 1948-49 designated the Triumph 2000, around 2000 were made. It has a steel tubular chassis frame with an aluminium body and uses a 2088cc ohv 4 cylinder engine (similar to the Standard Vanguard and later TR Triumphs) with a column shift 3 speed full syncromesh gearbox, it has a top speed of 77 mph. Triumph produced this model as a 5 seater!, it has a front bench seat, the column gearshift making more space for the middle passenger, and a fold back boot lid with 2 occasional seats in the rear. This car has not been restored but has been well maintained all its life, the paintwork and trim were redone in the 1970's and still look good, mechanically this car is in fine fettle, it runs and drives very well. This is a rare and very collectable car, it is ready to use and enjoy it shows a wonderful patina, in my opinion this is a very special opportunity.
