A lovely example, this 1925 Vauxhall 14/40 LM Tourer has had a ground up restoration a few years ago by it's enthusiastic engineer owner of 30 years. This car is fitted with it's original sporty touring body by James Flood Pty Ltd in Melbourne and was sold new by Barlow Motors, Latrobe Street, Melbourne. The engine has been totally rebuilt from the bottom end up with new steel conrods, pistons and cylinder head, all the steering components, suspension etc have also been rebuilt, the radiator has been rebuilt and has the correct honeycomb core, the paintwork, leather trim, hood and side curtains (in the original style cloth), engine compartment etc are excellent, This car has it's correct Lucas "Prince of Darkness" lights, divers helmet tail lights, Jaeger instruments, CAV generator and Stewart vaccum tank, it has been converted to run with distributor/coil ignition for convenience. This fine example runs and drives very well. The Vauxhall 14/40 LM has a 4 cylinder 2297cc engine with a removable cylinder head of Ricardi design, a 4 speed right hand change transmission and excellent 4 wheel mechanical brakes.The 14/40 LM Series was among the last of the cars produced by Vauxhall during their golden years before GM involvement in 1926.
