This wonderful 1948 Series E Morris 8/40 Sedan has been restored from the ground up. The paintwork, leather trim, chrome, wheels and tyres and engine compartment are all beautifully presented, it runs and drives as it should. Launched in 1938 the Series E Morris 8/40 was similar mechanically to the previous model but with radically altered front end bodywork more in tune with the Art Deco style of the time. The Lucas"bug eye" headlights gave this model an appealing face. The 918cc side valve engine received a revised cylinder head that pushed the power way up to 29hp! The gearbox was now a 4 speed, this improved the performance and cruising ability substantially. The Series E Morris 8/40 was replaced by the Morris Minor in 1948.This beautiful little car has been very well restored to original specs (even the semaphore traficators work!), obviously substantially more than the asking price has been spent on the restoration. In my opinion, an excellent classic car and very good value.
